Frequently Asked Questions & Key Information
Artwork Information
About alcohol ink: Alcohol inks are a vibrant, dye-based medium. They are diluted with isopropyl alcohol and manipulated to create beautiful layers and patterns.
It is incredibly toxic and special PPE must be worn whilst using it as well as controlling environmental factors such as humidity - 45% and below is the recommended maximum humidity level for the inks to work optimally.
Alcohol ink is sensitive to UV light. Where possible, items are coated with several layers of UV protection varnish. Keep alcohol ink pieces out of direct sunlight to maximise colour preservation. Your pieces will last a lifetime if you follow this advice!
Hanging Advice: As with any original art, avoid displaying in direct sunlight, above a high heat source, or in a damp area. If framing your artwork, using a UV filtering glazing is recommended to add additional protection from UV light. This will further protect the artwork and provide prolonged vibrancy of colours.
Framing Advice: All artworks on aluminium panels have the option to come installed with a discrete hanging system that gives the painting a floating effect.
I generally advise choosing the unframed option where possible as shipping is much more economical.
I thoroughly recommend using your local framer, especially for larger artworks. They will do the most professional job to ensure your artwork lasts a lifetime.
Who Owns The Artwork?: I retain all rights to all artwork I create. This includes the rights to the image of sold and commissioned original paintings. I retain the right to make reproductions of any and all artwork I create unless the Collector has purchased the full or partial rights to the artwork. The collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission. Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing full or partial rights to your painting.
If the artwork ends up being reproduced in a magazine or other media, credit must be given.

What is resin?
The resin I use is a high quality art coating resin. Resin is made when two liquid components, resin and hardener, are mixed to create a chemical reaction. This results in a solid, clear and glossy finish within 24 hours of application.
The resin further cures over the next 30 days, after which it reaches its maximum durability. During this time, the resin adapts to the surface it was applied on, sometimes resulting in waves, lines or fine dimples to develop on the surface. These are completely normal byproducts of the resin interacting with its surrounding environment.
How do I care for resin pieces?
Keep pieces out of direct sunlight. This will prolong the clarity of the resin and reduce the risk of colour fading of the inks.
Wipe liquids from the surface of items as soon as possible. Long periods of saturation on the resin can cause marking.
Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. To clean, wipe down with a damp cloth and mild soap.
The resin is heat resistant to 90 degrees celsius after the 30-day cure period. Please take care with extremely hot items as they could damage or mark the surface of the product.
Fluctuations in temperature and high humidity can sometimes affect the resin. Store resined products above 15 degrees celsius in a low humid environment to best prevent any clouding or marking.
Marking can be caused by the shape/indentation of the base of a mug. Using a resin polisher such as Autoglym Super Resin Polish can help buff superficial imperfections and restore the finish. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for use.
The finish of designs is robust and functional but like any used item, normal use will show signs of wear and tear.
